About Us

Librecine Uruguay was founded in 2007 by writer-director Gabriel Szollosy and producer-writer Anna Jancsó to bring Latin America’s compelling stories to the screen.

We have since produced creative and social documentaries for cinema, arts documentaries and musical content for television and have developed cross-media content for children across the continent.

We have worked with partners and stakeholders from around the world: the United Nations, IDFA’s Jan Vrijman (Bertha) Fund, ZDF, ARTE, Chello-Multicanal (AMC Networks Iberia), Uruguay’s Plan Ceibal, the MTI’s One Laptop Per Child programme and Colombia’s Making Docs, to name a few.

Our commitment to ethical storytelling and our ability to connect closely with our subject-matters has allowed us to showcase our projects and films in some of the world’s most prestigious markets, festivals and institutions.
